I enjoy doing book reviews which is why I wanted to make them a feature in this blog.
I can't say that I will be doing them too often as I need to have had a book for a while for me to do an indepth review on it. I also need to have made quite a few recipes, at the very least three but preferably a lot more before I can properly gauge how well the recipes turn out.
I can say that I will be as honest as possible when reviewing a book as that is what I would want when reading a review myself and deciding whether to spend hard earned cash on it. Saying that, please bear in mind that these are my personal opinions and I am by no means a professional reviewer. Some of these books also have nostalgic and sentimental value, in particular the ones I've had for a very long while or recieved as gifts, but I will try to be clear about that if it is the case.
I've decided on a format or template that I'm happy with and feel that I can stick too and will use for all my indepth reviews. I thought long and hard on whether to include a rating along with the conclusion and finally decided against it. This is because, at the end of the day, it is my personal opinion and personal standards change. I might think a particular book is the pinnacle, done very well and judge every other book by it, then another book comes along that lifts that standard to newer heights. I hope the review has enough detail itself to allow you to make an informed judgement on whether you would want to buy a particular book or not.
